QUI SUM (who I am)

Welcome to the site of VeniatRegnum. You may be asking yourself, “Self, what does veniat regnum even mean?” Well veniat regnum (tuum) is Latin for “may (Your) kingdom come” taken from Matthew 6. Thus it is also the purpose of this blog to be about discussing everything from a “kingdom minded” perspective and to discuss issues relevant to said kingdom – and since this kingdom is in the business of redeeming of all of creation, this blog’s scope will also be on discussing all of creation (aka everything – scripture, theology, work, food, beer/wine, music, movies, the web, and the beat goes on…).

Too often we as Christians forget that our ultimate purpose isn’t just “to get saved and save everyone around us” but is to “glorify God and enjoy him forever.” Saying “veniat regnum tuum” isn’t praying for an escape of this world, but for the glory of God to be seen in every aspect of this very world we are currently a part of. Christianity is a world view through which all of life must be seen, and therefore all of life, culture, art, daily monotony, and spiritual matters are all important aspects of our lives as Christians. I don’t see a distinction between the sacred and secular (as Kuyper said, “there is not a square inch in the whole domain of our human existence over which Christ, who is Sovereign over all, does not cry: ‘Mine!'”) thus all discussions can be had with or without overt “spiritual” terms. God gave us both his Word and wisdom, let’s use them. Therefore, let us discuss all of life – Soli Deo Gloria (glory to God alone).

That’s the site, and as for me, I am an Omaha, NE resident studying at a local university. I’m married to an amazing woman and am severely blessed beyond what I deserve. Omaha is a great city and I love to frequent Harvest PCA, The Dundee Dell, and Lazlos.
