Living as Citizens of the Coming Kingdom

A good friend of mine, Eric Tonjes (of Between the Trees), preached at Grace Chapel last Sunday as he and his wife are moving to St. Louis this week to pursue seminary at Covenant. He and Elizabeth will be dearly missed here in Lincoln and we wish God’s providential hand of blessing upon them both.

His parting sermon, “Living as Citizens of the Coming Kingdom” was a great exhortation from Revelation 21. The very name of this blog and its purpose share the sentiment of Eric’s message as Christians of this world need to engage and be very much a part of THIS world as it is the world being renewed, not done away with. We are not living to escape this current creation and go to some cloud in the sky, but to be a part of the renewal of this current land.

Here’s the sermon for your own listening pleasure (it’s a big file): http://gracepca.com/podcast/2008-05-25.mp3
